Chelsea had a night to forget in Europe, as their Champions League hopes suffered a major blow.

The Blues were beaten 5-2 by PSG in the first leg of their last-16 clash, leaving them facing an uphill battle in the return fixture.

Despite brief moments of resistance from Chelsea, the Ligue 1 side proved far too strong on the night.

But while the result itself grabbed headlines, events in the closing stages of the match have now drawn further attention.

During stoppage time, tensions were high as Chelsea pushed forward in search of a late goal.

The moment came near the touchline as players attempted to restart play quickly.

According to BBC Sport, Chelsea winger Pedro Neto now faces potential disciplinary action from UEFA after pushing a ball boy during the closing stages of the match.

The incident happened as Neto attempted to retrieve the ball quickly while Chelsea were chasing the game, with the ball boy falling to the ground following the shove.

Although the referee did not issue an immediate punishment during the match, UEFA has opened proceedings to review the incident under its disciplinary regulations.

Possible outcomes could include a warning, fine or suspension depending on the findings of the governing body.

Following the match, Neto apologised for the incident and reportedly gave the ball boy his shirt as a gesture of remorse.

For Chelsea, however, the focus will remain on the pitch.

After conceding five goals in Paris, the Premier League side now faces a daunting challenge if they are to overturn the deficit in the second leg.
