Chelsea had a golden opportunity to get back in the race for Champions League qualification next season. The stage was set for Liam Rosenior and his men to turn things around.

But the Blues failed to deliver once again when it mattered. Now, the Premier League could once again receive five spots in the Champions League next season.

And, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool are Chelsea’s main competitors for the three spots. Now, on Friday night, United dropped points during the trip to Bournemouth.

Liverpool surprisingly lost to Brighton away from home. Aston Villa will play West Ham United on Sunday. But Chelsea had a chance to gain an advantage as they faced Everton away from home.

However, the Blues were decimated by the Toffees as Everton sealed a famous 3-0 victory. It seemed Chelsea are struggling to recover from the 8-2 humiliation at the hands of PSG.

Now, the Blues have a knack for sacking managers. The BlueCo consortium took charge of the club in 2022. So far, they have already parted ways with four permanent managers.

Liam Rosenior took over the charge from Enzo Maresca. The Italian left the club even after delivering the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

So, the former Strasbourg manager is already under fire. According to Nicolo Schira, the Chelsea board are not happy with the recent results of the club under Rosenior.

Thus, if the manager cannot turn the result around and secure a Champions League spot next season, they will not hesitate to change the manager.

So far, the former Hull City boss has managed Chelsea in 19 games and won 10 of them. However, in his last 10 games in all competitions, he lost seven games.

And, in the last five, he lost four. So, unless Liam Rosenior can turn things around, it won’t be surprising to see a new figure in Chelsea’s dugout next season.
