Real Madrid will be looking to sign midfielders next summer. And one of their main targets will be Rodri from Manchester City.
The Spaniard will enter the final year of his deal at Manchester in July. That is why the Citizens have to make a decision quickly.
If they don’t want to lose the Ballon d’Or winner for free, then they would have to tie him down to another contract or sell him next summer.
Real Madrid appear to be at the front of the queue when it comes to the potential suitors for the Spanish international. Also, Rodri looks open to moving to Santiago Bernabeu.
However, there might be other clubs in the race if the Citizens put Rodri up for sale. Now, the Citizens have to decide the transfer fee they would want for Rodri.
Now, with Rodri having just a year left in his deal, Manchester City will not be in a strong position during the negotiation.
But the Premier League club will not let one of their best players go without a fair price. With that said, Real Madrid have already made up their mind on how much they would pay for Rodri.
According to Ekrem Konur, the Los Blancos will not overpay for the Spanish international. In fact, they may not pay anything more than €60 million for the 29-year-old.
So, given that Rodri is entering his final year at City and he will be 30 years old at that time, it is hard to imagine Manchester City turning down such a proposal if they decide to sell Rodri.
