Gary Neville has made a major move in the media space. The former Manchester United defender is expanding his growing football platform.

However, this is not a small step. The deal marks a significant investment in digital football content.

Meanwhile, Neville’s company, The Overlap, has completed the purchase of two popular YouTube channels.

The channels were created by Manchester United fan and influencer Mark Goldbridge. They include The United Stand and That’s Football.

At the same time, the deal is understood to be worth a seven-figure sum. It reflects the growing value of football content online.

However, Goldbridge is not stepping away. He will continue to front both channels moving forward. Instead, the focus is on expansion.

The United Stand is set to grow under the new structure. It will now include Stick to United, linked to the Stick to Football podcast brand.

Meanwhile, journalists and former Manchester United players are expected to feature regularly.

At the same time, a new show is also planned. The Daily United will be introduced as part of the expansion.

Mark Goldbridge’s channels currently have a combined 3.7 million subscribers. That reach is expected to grow under the new setup.

Meanwhile, this move follows earlier developments. Neville founded The Overlap in 2021. He later sold a majority stake to Global.

The aim is to replicate the success of major podcast networks like Goalhanger. Now, with this latest deal, Gary Neville is taking another big step in building a football media empire.
