Chelsea’s hopes of securing Champions League football are starting to fade. The Blues sit sixth in the table, seven points behind fifth-placed Liverpool.
The Reds won their game against Everton late into the stoppage time. With only five matches left, the margin for error has almost disappeared. Recent results have made things worse.
Defeats against both Manchester City and Manchester United have left Chelsea struggling for momentum.
Just three points now separate them from mid-table, increasing the pressure around Stamford Bridge. That situation has forced the club into a difficult position.
Despite backing from the ownership group, doubts continue to grow over Liam Rosenior and his future.
Another setback at the weekend extended a worrying run of form, with the team failing to score in four straight league defeats.
For now, Chelsea have not made a final decision. However, reports suggest the club have already started assessing potential replacements as they search for stability and results.
That is where the focus shifts.
According to BettingLounge, Filipe Luishas emerged as the leading candidate to take charge. The Chelsea star sits at the top of the bookmakers’ list, with odds of 2/1.
Behind him, Oliver Glasner follows at 4/1, while several other names remain in the mix.
Frank Lampard could return for a third spell at 8/1. Kieran McKenna and Jurgen Klopp sit at 33/1, with Jose Mourinho and Ruben Amorim also under consideration.
Further down the list, Luis Enrique also appears, including the likes of Erik ten Hag and Pep Guardiola. For now, the club continue to back Rosenior publicly.
But with Champions League qualification slipping away, the pressure continues to build and a major decision may not be far away.
