Real Madrid are reportedly dealing with growing tension behind the scenes following another serious dressing room incident involving Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.
The atmosphere around the club has become increasingly tense in recent weeks.
Frustrations have continued to rise after disappointing performances and growing pressure during the final stages of the season.
Kylian Mbappe was facing criticisms for his Italy trip, which his camp already addressed with a statement.
Reports had already suggested there was unrest within the squad following an earlier confrontation at training. However, the situation now appears to have escalated much further.
According to MARCA, club officials were forced to hold an emergency meeting after a new altercation broke out involving Tchouameni and Valverde.
The report claims tensions started early in the day when Valverde allegedly refused to shake hands with Tchouameni before training began.
That reportedly created a hostile atmosphere throughout the session. Things then escalated badly after training ended.
The clash between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni reportedly became so serious that Valverde eventually needed hospital treatment.
The report states that Valverde suffered a heavy blow during the confrontation, which caused a cut that required medical attention.
Sources also insist Tchouameni did not cause the injury intentionally. Several players reportedly had to intervene to stop the situation from worsening further.
The seriousness of the incident then forced Real Madrid officials into immediate action.
Real Madrid held an emergency dressing room meeting shortly afterwards, with the CEO, Jose Angel Sanchez, present.
They did not allow any player to leave the training ground during the meeting as the club attempted to calm the growing tensions internally.
Reports from Spain claim there is now serious concern inside Real Madrid over the atmosphere within the squad.
The latest incident has also reportedly deepened divisions inside the dressing room at a crucial stage of the season.
This was the last thing Real Madrid needed ahead of their crucial El Clasico game against Barcelona this weekend.
