Barcelona are expected to enter the summer transfer window searching for a new attacking option as uncertainty continues surrounding Robert Lewandowski’s future at the club.

The Polish striker is approaching the final stage of his Barcelona career and reports suggest an official announcement regarding his departure could arrive soon.

Because of that, the Catalan giants have already started assessing several attacking targets ahead of next season.

For a long time, Julian Alvarez appeared to be one of the leading candidates on Barcelona’s shortlist.

However, the Argentine forward is likely to prove too expensive for the Spanish giants given their ongoing financial situation.

As a result, Barcelona have now shifted their focus towards another Premier League attacker.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are also preparing for a major summer overhaul after another demanding campaign under Pep Guardiola.

Several attacking players are facing uncertain futures at the Etihad Stadium as the club reassess the squad ahead of next season. One player whose future remains unclear is Omar Marmoush.

The Egyptian forward joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for an initial fee of around €70 million.

The overall package could reportedly rise above €80 million because of performance-related add-ons.

Marmoush signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until 2029 and received the iconic number seven shirt after arriving as one of Guardiola’s major January signings.

However, according to CaughtOffside, Manchester City are now open to considering offers for Marmoush if the right proposal arrives this summer.

The report claims City could demand around €60-65 million for the Egyptian international. Barcelona are reportedly leading the race for the forward as they search for a replacement for Lewandowski.

Premier League clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have also shown interest in the forward previously.

However, Manchester City would reportedly prefer selling him abroad instead of strengthening a domestic rival.

Despite his limited opportunities at Manchester City, Marmoush reminded everyone of his quality after scoring from the bench against Brentford.
