Pep Guardiola’s time at Manchester City appears to be nearing its end after reports claimed the Spaniard decided to leave the club this summer.

News of Guardiola’s expected departure emerged during Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Burnley on Monday night and quickly sent shockwaves across football.

Manchester City have not officially confirmed the decision yet. However, Guardiola is expected to face questions about his future before City’s crucial match against Bournemouth.

The Spaniard will reportedly leave behind one of the greatest managerial eras in Premier League history.

During his decade at the Etihad so far, Guardiola won six Premier League titles, the Champions League, three FA Cups and five EFL Cups.

Manchester City already appear to be preparing for the next chapter as well.

Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca remains the favourite to replace Guardiola after previously working under him in Manchester.

Meanwhile, attention has also shifted towards Guardiola’s next move in football.

The Spaniard previously admitted he would not rush straight back into club management after leaving Manchester City.

Guardiola even suggested international football could interest him more than another club project.

Now, according to the latest odds from Betfair, England have emerged as favourites to become Guardiola’s next managerial job.

The Three Lions are currently managed by Thomas Tuchel, who recently signed a contract extension until EURO 2028.

However, reports claim a disappointing World Cup campaign could still create uncertainty around the England job. Betfair now place Guardiola at 2/1 to become England’s next permanent manager.

Brazil currently rank as second favourites at 7/2 despite appointing Carlo Ancelotti ahead of the World Cup.

A return to Barcelona and Bayern Munich also remains among the leading possibilities for Guardiola’s future.

The Spain national team job also appears high on the list, while Liverpool remain outsiders at 33/1.

Guardiola previously took a year-long break after leaving Barcelona before later joining Bayern Munich.

Now, with Manchester City preparing for life after Guardiola, speculation around the next chapter of his career continues to grow rapidly across Europe.
