Real Madrid prepared to consider Valverde sale this summer.

Some situations shift so quickly that it’s difficult to keep track of where things actually stand.

Three weeks ago, Federico Valverde was being discussed as Real Madrid’s next captain.

Now, according to reports in Spain, a sale this summer is firmly on the table.

And the change has come entirely from within.

Real Madrid prepared to consider Valverde sale this summer

According to Mundo Deportivo, the situation surrounding Federico Valverde at Real Madrid has changed dramatically, with the club now understood to be open to listening to offers for the Uruguayan midfielder this summer.

The shift is directly linked to the fallout from his physical altercation with Aurelien Tchouameni.

Valverde and Tchouaméni came to blows during a training session, a confrontation that spilled from the pitch into the dressing room.

Both players were fined €500,000 each.

Several members of the squad have since reportedly expressed the view that Valverde has been showing “attitudes unworthy of a captain” for some time.

A perception that has caused significant internal damage and divisions within the group.

It’s a remarkable turn of events for a player who, just weeks ago, was being positioned as Dani Carvajal’s long-term successor as club captain.

The external interest is substantial.

Valverde’s contract runs until 2029, which gives Real Madrid enormous leverage on price.

Figures of between €80 million and €120 million have been cited by various Spanish outlets.

The complicating factor is the player himself.

Valverde is not pushing for an exit.

He wants to stay at the Bernabeu and, according to those close to him, is prepared to fight to rebuild his standing within the squad.

But Real Madrid’s calculation has changed.

Those are not things a contract clause can resolve.

Yet, with Jose Mourinho expected to take charge this summer, the door to a Valverde departure is now genuinely open.
