Napoli have officially confirmed Antonio Conte will leave the club after bringing his two-year spell in Naples to an end.
The announcement arrived only hours after Napoli finished their Serie A campaign with a 1-0 victory over Udinese on the final day of the season.
Despite ending the campaign with another win, Conte had already decided his time at Napoli was over.
Speculation surrounding his future intensified heavily during recent weeks, and Italian media widely expected his departure even before Sunday’s final fixture.
Now, Napoli officially confirmed the news through the club’s social media channels.
The Serie A champions posted a farewell message thanking Conte for his work during one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history.
Conte also openly explained the reasons behind his decision after the victory over Udinese.
The Italian admitted he felt the project had naturally reached its conclusion. He also revealed frustration over failing to fully unite the environment around the club.
During his time in Naples, Conte successfully guided Napoli back towards the top of Italian football.
The 56-year-old delivered two trophies during his spell in charge, winning both the Serie A title and the Supercoppa Italiana.
Across 91 matches as Napoli manager, Conte recorded 52 victories. He rebuilt the club into one of the strongest sides in Italy again.
His departure now places another elite manager onto the market ahead of a summer expected to bring huge managerial movement across Europe.
Conte has already built one of the most decorated managerial careers in modern football. He had previous spells with Juventus, Inter Milan, Tottenham, Chelsea, and the Italian national team.
The club’s farewell post featured a smiling Conte holding his Serie A winners’ medal while supporters flooded social media with tributes to the departing coach.
Now, Conte prepares for his next challenge while Napoli begin searching for a new manager.
