Chelsea eye move for £50M attacker

The London club are specifically searching for a creative attacker.

Chelsea are preparing for another busy summer transfer window following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as the club’s new manager.

The Blues will look to strengthen several positions ahead of next season, with recruitment plans already taking shape behind the scenes.

The club are reportedly targeting a centre-back, another midfielder, and at least one more attacker before the window closes.

Behdad Eghbali has already indicated that the club want to focus more on players with proven Premier League experience.

Despite bringing in four attackers last summer and already securing deals for Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha, Chelsea still want another forward option.

The London club are specifically searching for a creative attacker capable of operating from the left side while also drifting centrally when needed.

Morgan Rogers has been linked with the Blues in recent weeks. However, another Premier League attacker is also under serious consideration.

According to The Independent, Chelsea are weighing up a move for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen this summer.

Bowen’s situation has changed dramatically following his club’s relegation to the Championship at the end of last season.

Chelsea have admired the England international for quite some time, although they are not the only club monitoring his situation.

West Ham are hoping to receive around £50 million for Bowen. However, there is belief that interested clubs may attempt to complete a deal for closer to £40 million.

The 29-year-old registered 11 goals and 12 assists across 42 appearances in all competitions last season.

However, his contributions were not enough to prevent the Hammers from suffering relegation.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the Blues decide to intensify their interest as the summer transfer window progresses.
