Liverpool have begun a new era under Andoni Iraola after a disappointing 2025–26 campaign ended with Arne Slot’s departure.
The Reds have already made several major decisions as they look to rebuild the squad before the new season.
The club have approved a number of significant changes during the summer window. Mohamed Salah has agreed to leave a year before the end of his contract.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have also completed a deal for Victor Munoz. Talks for Ayyoub Bouaddi and Bradley Barcola also remain active despite missing out on Yan Diomande.
Strengthening the defence has been one of Iraola’s top priorities. Liverpool moved early to secure one of their primary targets as part of their defensive rebuild.
Liverpool have now officially confirmed the signing of Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais on a long-term contract.
Speaking after completing the move, Jacquet expressed his excitement about starting his Liverpool career. He said:
“I feel really good, the first impressions are good and I am very happy to start here.
“I am very happy. When I see the facilities, I can see myself there. I feel good here and I am very excited to get started.
“For me it’s a big dream, it’s a big club. A club like Liverpool, it’s a big dream for me.”
The 20-year-old arrives at Anfield after progressing through Rennes’ academy to make 33 senior appearances.
The majority of those came during the 2025–26 campaign before a shoulder injury in February brought his season to an early end.
Before establishing himself at Rennes, Jacquet also gained valuable first-team experience during a loan spell with Clermont Foot, where he made 24 appearances.
The France Under-21 international has now completed his rehabilitation and will join Liverpool’s pre-season preparations as Iraola continues assembling his squad for the upcoming campaign.
