Barcelona continue to reshape their attack ahead of the new season. The Catalan club returned to La Liga’s 1:1 spending rule earlier this summer and quickly stepped up their activity in the market.
Anthony Gordon has already arrived from Newcastle United in an €80 million deal, while Robert Lewandowski left for Chicago Fire after the expiration of his contract.
Barcelona also generated additional funds by selling Ansu Fati to AS Monaco as Hansi Flick continues rebuilding his frontline. However, the club’s summer business is far from complete.
Barcelona remain determined to sign a new centre-forward before the transfer window closes. Julian Alvarez has remained the priority target since May.
At the same time, the club are also looking to strengthen the wide areas following Marcus Rashford’s return to Manchester United after his loan spell.
According to Gerard Romero, Barcelona have now submitted an official offer to Borussia Dortmund for Karim Adeyemi after agreeing personal terms with the player.
The German international has already informed Dortmund that he only wants to join Barcelona this summer.
Adeyemi’s current contract expires in June 2027 and he has no plans to sign an extension with the Bundesliga club.
Barcelona are now waiting for Dortmund’s response as negotiations between the two clubs continue.
Fabrizio Romano also reports that a move for Adeyemi would not affect Barcelona’s plans to sign a new striker.
The club continue to view Julian Alvarez as their preferred option to lead the line next season.
Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and scored 36 goals in 146 appearances for the German side.
Last season, he contributed 10 goals and seven assists across all competitions despite struggling for regular starts under Niko Kovac. Now, Barcelona hope they can convince Dortmund to agree a deal to sign the player.
