Barcelona are bringing in Karim Adeyemi from Dortmund.
They need to sell.
And the player most likely to make way has already given his answer.
Quietly, through his representatives, while Spain continue their World Cup run.
Ferran Torres has said yes to PSG.
PSG reach agreement in principle with Barcelona’s Ferran Torres
According to L’Equipe, PSG have been exploring a move for Torres for several week, driven primarily by the uncertainty surrounding Bradley Barcola’s future and the need to replace Gonçalo Ramos, who has joined AC Milan.
Sky Sports Italia subsequently confirmed what L’Equipe had been building toward – Torres has reached an agreement in principle with the Champions League holders.
Details still need to be finalised once Spain’s World Cup campaign concludes.
But the player’s position is clear.
He wants to go to Paris.
For Barcelona, the situation is one they would have preferred to avoid.
Torres enters the final months of his contract and the club are in no position to refuse a deal, particularly as they’ve just committed funds to the Adeyemi signing and need to balance the books before La Liga’s financial restrictions bite.
Mundo Deportivo reports that discussions between the clubs are at an advanced stage, with a fee of around €45 million expected to complete the deal.
At that price, for a player entering the final phase of his contract, PSG are getting genuine value.
The timing also has direct implications for the Barcola situation.
Torres would arrive as cover and competition for the wide positions, potentially easing PSG’s stance on letting Barcola leave, a development that both Arsenal and Liverpool would welcome enormously.
Spain face France in the World Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.
Torres will be there – focused, professional and keeping his public comments deliberately vague.
But behind the scenes, the next chapter has already been agreed.
