Michael Olise makes decision on Real Madrid transfer

There were also claims that he was keen on the idea of joining Jose Mourinho’s side.

Michael Olise established himself as one of the biggest stars in European football during the 2025-26 season.

The Bayern Munich attacker finished the Bundesliga campaign with 15 goals and 20 assists in 32 appearances.

Those performances earned him the Bundesliga Player of the Season award and further increased his reputation across Europe.

Olise carried that form into the 2026 FIFA World Cup with France. The winger produced five assists in seven matches during the tournament.

He became the first player since 1994 to reach that figure at a single World Cup.

Even though France fell to Spain in the semi-finals, his displays only strengthened his standing among the game’s elite creators.

As a result, speculation over his future quickly intensified after the World Cup came to an end.

Real Madrid emerged as one of the clubs most strongly linked with the Bayern Munich forward.

Reports coming out of France suggested that the 24-year-old viewed the Santiago Bernabeu as his preferred destination if he decided to leave Germany this summer.

There were also claims that he was keen on the idea of joining Jose Mourinho’s side.

However, according to Sky Sport Germany (via SPORT), Michael Olise has informed Bayern Munich that he wants to continue at the Allianz Arena and has not asked to leave the club this summer.

The report states that the message delivered to Bayern officials directly contradicts the claims that emerged from France in recent days.

Bayern remain relaxed about the situation and continue to view the attacker as completely unsellable.

In fact, the German champions are already working on an improved contract for Olise which would significantly increase his salary.

His current deal runs until 2029 and does not include a release clause, while Bayern want to extend that agreement until 2031.

Real Madrid’s position throughout the situation has also remained unchanged. The Spanish giants never intended to approach Bayern unless Olise first expressed a desire to leave.
