Manchester City eye move for PSG winger

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have both tracked the attacker for several weeks.

Manchester City entered a new era this summer following the departure of Pep Guardiola and the arrival of Enzo Maresca at the Etihad Stadium.

The club have already moved quickly in the transfer market as they prepare for the new campaign under their new manager.

Elliot Anderson arrived in a club-record move from Nottingham Forest, while Jeremy Monga, Pierce Charles and Mathys Detourbet also joined the club.

Despite those additions, further reinforcements are expected before the transfer window closes as City continue reshaping their squad.

The club are particularly active in the market for young talent capable of becoming key players in the coming years.

Paris Saint-Germain could provide one such opportunity following developments surrounding one of their emerging attackers.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester City have now added Ibrahim Mbaye to their shortlist of transfer targets this summer.

The teenager enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in France and featured regularly during the first half of the season under Luis Enrique.

However, his opportunities became more limited after the international break despite his encouraging performances earlier in the campaign.

The winger also impressed on the international stage, producing important displays for Senegal and making headlines during the World Cup.

The report claims that Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have both tracked the attacker for several weeks. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring the situation.

Mbaye reportedly wants to leave France in search of a new challenge and regular first-team football elsewhere. The winger still has two years remaining on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

He made his first-team debut under Luis Enrique in August 2024. And he has since made 42 appearances for the French champions.

With competition increasing for Mbaye’s signature, the battle for the Senegal international could intensify in the coming weeks.
