Alexis Mac Allister has once again found himself at the centre of speculation over a possible move away from Liverpool.
The midfielder recently returned to the spotlight after helping Argentina reach the 2026 World Cup final.
Although Argentina eventually suffered a 1-0 extra-time defeat against Spain, Mac Allister enjoyed an impressive tournament in North America.
He started seven of Argentina’s eight matches and played an important role throughout their run to the final.
Moreover, the 27-year-old scored against Switzerland in the quarter-finals and also provided an assist against Cape Verde.
His performances represented a strong response after a difficult domestic campaign with Liverpool under former manager Arne Slot.
However, attention has quickly shifted towards his club future following fresh speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
Reports in Spain claimed Alexis Mac Allister and his representatives had offered the midfielder to the Spanish giants.
However, his father Carlos Mac Allister has now firmly rejected suggestions that discussions have taken place. Speaking to 365Scores, Carlos said:
“We have not spoken with any official at Real Madrid. What is being circulated about us holding talks with Real Madrid is not true.”
The comments provide a clear response to speculation surrounding the Argentina international following his impressive World Cup campaign.
Mac Allister remains under contract at Liverpool, and his father expects him to return to England after taking a short break following the tournament. Carlos added:
“Mac Allister is still under contract for two seasons at Liverpool, and currently he will get some rest for a few days, and then return to play in the Premier League, and that is the current situation.”
Therefore, there is currently no indication from Mac Allister’s camp that negotiations with Real Madrid have taken place.
The midfielder is expected to return to Liverpool as Andoni Iraola prepares his squad for the new campaign.
For now, his father’s comments have firmly dismissed the latest Real Madrid speculation and made Mac Allister’s immediate plans clear.
