Barcelona face growing uncertainty over their plans to strengthen Hansi Flick’s attack before the transfer window closes.

According to El Desmarque (via Football Italia), Barcelona have identified Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez as an alternative to Alvarez and are considering a move for the 28-year-old.
Martinez enjoyed another productive campaign last season. He scored 22 goals across all competitions as Inter won Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
The Argentina international also impressed at the World Cup. His performances have strengthened Barcelona’s belief that he could fit Flick’s attacking system.
Sporting director Deco also views the Inter captain as an attractive option as Barcelona assess their next move.
Their growing interest could have major implications for the Alvarez situation. Atletico have refused to negotiate with Barcelona so far, despite the striker wanting a transfer.
Arsenal could consequently gain a clearer opportunity if Barcelona decide to focus their attention elsewhere.
The Gunners have identified Alvarez as their leading attacking target, although completing a deal would still remain extremely difficult.
Atletico continue to regard the forward as an important player and have shown no willingness to lower their resistance.
Barcelona must now decide whether to continue pushing for Alvarez or pursue their newly identified alternative before the transfer window closes.
