Chelsea have undergone significant changes this summer as Xabi Alonso prepares for his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues appointed Alonso following a turbulent 2025-26 campaign, which saw several changes in the dugout despite success in other competitions.
Chelsea have since strengthened Alonso’s squad with several additions, including Morgan Rogers, Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck.
The club have also focused on player sales as they continue reshaping the squad before the summer transfer window closes.
Pedro Neto has emerged as one player attracting significant interest following an impressive campaign with the Blues.
The Portuguese winger featured regularly last season before representing his country at the 2026 World Cup.
Neto started all five of Portugal’s matches at the tournament, but their campaign ended with a 1-0 defeat against Spain in the round of 16.
His Chelsea future has since attracted attention, with clubs from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia showing interest.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea now want close to £100 million to sell Pedro Neto this summer. Al-Hilal have emerged as serious contenders for his signature.
However, no club has submitted a formal offer to Chelsea for the 26-year-old so far. Chelsea have not actively tried to sell Neto and still value the Portugal international highly within the club.
The Blues believe the current market for wingers justifies their substantial valuation after seeing significant fees attached to other players.
Neto originally joined Chelsea from Wolves for £54 million in 2024 and remains an important member of Alonso’s squad.
He started Chelsea’s final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad, with Alonso deploying him at right wing-back.
Neto impressed in that role before Estevao replaced him after 76 minutes of the 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.
For now, Chelsea’s £100 million asking price presents a significant obstacle for Al-Hilal or any other club considering a late move for Neto.
