David Ornstein reveals record transfer fee Manchester City set to receive from Tottenham Hotspur for Savinho

Tottenham have identified Savinho as an important addition after injuries disrupted their attacking options last season.

Tottenham Hotspur have now moved closer to completing another major signing after targeting Manchester City winger Savinho.

The north London club wanted the Brazilian last summer and discussed a package worth around £43.3 million.

Manchester City rejected that approach before handing Savinho a new contract running until 2031.

However, Tottenham revived their interest this summer as De Zerbi looked to add more attacking options.

According to David Ornstein, Tottenham Hotspur have agreed an £85 million package with Manchester City for Savinho.

Spurs will pay £75 million upfront and could hand City another £10 million through performance-related bonuses. The report adds that £5 million of those bonuses are highly achievable.

That means Manchester City could realistically receive at least £80 million from the deal before the remaining conditions come into play.

The full £85 million package would also make Savinho Manchester City’s record sale. Atletico Madrid previously held that distinction after paying a package worth £82 million for Julian Alvarez in 2024.

City originally signed Savinho from Troyes in 2024 for around €40 million following his successful spell with Girona.

The 22-year-old has since made 53 appearances for Manchester City, scoring twice and providing 12 assists.

He started only seven Premier League matches last season, which limited his opportunities to establish himself as a regular starter.

Tottenham have identified Savinho as an important addition after injuries disrupted their attacking options last season.

Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert all spent time unavailable during the campaign.

Spurs are also pursuing Savinho’s Manchester City teammate Omar Marmoush in a separate transfer.

For now, the agreement for Savinho gives Tottenham another major attacking reinforcement while handing City a potential club-record transfer fee.
