Aston Villa make £60M bid for Chelsea star

Chelsea are now close to accepting the £60 million package from Aston Villa.

Aston Villa have been busy rebuilding their squad following several major departures during the summer transfer window.

Morgan Rogers joined Chelsea for £120 million, while Ezri Konsa moved to Arsenal for more than £50 million.

Youri Tielemans also joined Manchester United. As a result, Unai Emery has overseen significant reinvestment at Villa Park.

Villa signed Johan Manzambi from Freiburg for a club-record £51 million and also brought in Joao Gomes from Wolves.

Alejandro Garnacho arrived on loan, while Villa completed deals for goalkeeper Zion Suzuki and left-back Matteo Ruggeri.

Furthermore, Leon Goretzka completed his medical ahead of joining the club on a free transfer.

However, Villa are also looking to strengthen their attack amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Ollie Watkins.

The England striker has attracted strong interest from Al Hilal, forcing Villa to consider possible replacements before the deadline.

Villa have already opened negotiations with AC Milan for Rafael Leao and also made an approach for Jean-Philippe Mateta.

According to Santi Aouna, Aston Villa have submitted a £60 million (€70m) offer including bonuses to Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea are on the verge of accepting the proposal. However, Villa must still reach an agreement with Jackson over personal terms.

Emery is pushing hard for the transfer after previously working with the Senegal international during their time together at Villarreal.

Jackson spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Bayern Munich, largely operating as a substitute behind Harry Kane.

Meanwhile, Villa also offered €22 million for Mateta, but Crystal Palace rejected their proposal.

With Chelsea close to accepting the £60 million package, Villa must now reach an agreement with Jackson to complete the deal.
