Chelsea exploring move for Brazilian midfielder

That agreement contains a €100 million release clause for clubs outside Brazil.

Chelsea remain active in the transfer market as Xabi Alonso continues reshaping his squad before the summer window closes.

The Blues have already completed several significant deals following another major period of change at Stamford Bridge.

Morgan Rogers arrived from Aston Villa for a club-record fee, strengthening Chelsea’s attacking options under their new manager.

Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra and Valentin Barco also joined as Chelsea added younger players across several positions.

Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck brought greater experience, while Emiliano Martinez arrived in a £7.5 million deal.

Several players have also departed, including Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap and Andrey Santos during Chelsea’s extensive squad overhaul.

Another major issue surrounds Enzo Fernandez, with Manchester City continuing their push to sign the Argentina midfielder.

Chelsea have consequently explored several midfield possibilities as they prepare for potential further changes in the coming months.

According to Sport Witness, Chelsea are closely monitoring Palmeiras midfielder Luis Pacheco ahead of a possible future move.

The 18-year-old has been presented to several clubs, with Chelsea among those showing interest in the Brazilian youngster.

Chelsea want additional time to assess Pacheco before deciding whether to progress their interest into formal negotiations.

A summer move is not under consideration, making January a more realistic period for any potential transfer.

Pacheco already trains with Palmeiras’ senior squad, although he continues making occasional appearances for their Under-20 side.

Primarily operating as a defensive midfielder, he offers more than simply winning possession in central areas.

The youngster possesses physical strength, composure in possession and the ability to receive the ball from deeper positions.

He can also advance into a more traditional No.8 role when required, increasing his tactical versatility.

Palmeiras promoted Pacheco permanently into their senior setup earlier this year after his development through the academy.

The Brazilian club also protected his future by extending his contract until September 2028.

That agreement contains a €100 million release clause for clubs outside Brazil.

Paris Saint-Germain have previously monitored Pacheco, although their interest did not develop into an approach.

Chelsea will now continue assessing the midfielder before deciding whether to make their move in January.
