Liverpool set to replace Alexis Mac Allister next summer with Chelsea target

Liverpool have already started planning further changes after completing an extensive squad rebuild during the summer transfer window.

The Reds recorded an approximate £219 million net spend after strengthening several areas of Andoni Iraola’s squad.

Bradley Barcola arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth up to £123 million, becoming the flagship successor to Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool also added Victor Munoz to an attack significantly reshaped during the window. Defensively, Jeremy Jacquet joined from Rennes for £60 million, while Ronald Araujo arrived on loan from Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones joined Inter Milan permanently, Stefan Bajcetic returned to Celta Vigo and Harvey Elliott moved to Valencia on loan.

Despite those changes, Liverpool did not make central midfield another major priority before the September 1 deadline.

However, attention has already turned towards next summer and the possibility of another significant alteration in that department.

According to talkSPORT, Liverpool have spoken with the advisers of Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara regarding a possible summer 2027 transfer.

The Senegal international has reportedly been identified as a potential replacement for Alexis Mac Allister, whose future attracted some uncertainty this summer.

Mac Allister ultimately remained at Anfield, and his father previously denied speculation surrounding a possible departure from Liverpool.

Camara, 22, was also a major Chelsea target during the closing stages of the summer window.

Chelsea appeared close to signing him before Monaco eventually stopped the proposed transfer during a dramatic deadline-day sequence.

The Blues had pursued Camara following Enzo Fernandez’s £125 million move to Manchester City, but their agreement with Monaco collapsed.

Consequently, Liverpool could now provide competition should Chelsea revive their interest in Camara during a future transfer window.

Chelsea are also considering other midfield options, with Pablo Barrios emerging as a possible January target following the failed Camara deal.

Liverpool have opened their Premier League campaign with consecutive 2–2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
