Chelsea make major Alex Scott transfer decision

The midfielder remains under contract with Bournemouth until 2028.

Chelsea remain focused on strengthening their midfield after an eventful summer transfer window under Xabi Alonso.

The Blues sold Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City for £125M, leaving Alonso without one of his established central midfield options.

Chelsea subsequently pursued Lamine Camara, but their proposed £47M deal with Monaco collapsed during the closing stages of deadline day.

The club also made a determined attempt to sign Alex Scott from Bournemouth. However, the Cherries rejected Chelsea’s offers and retained the midfielder beyond the deadline.

Chelsea have since started the Premier League campaign with victories against Fulham and Brighton before suffering a 2–1 defeat to Arsenal.

However, their search for another midfielder remains active ahead of the January transfer window.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have now made fresh moves for Bournemouth midfielder Scott and are preparing another January attempt.

The Blues consider the 23-year-old a strong candidate as they prioritise signing a specialist central midfielder.

Scott can operate in a deeper midfield role or further forward. His Premier League experience is also viewed favourably by Chelsea.

Furthermore, sources close to Scott indicate that he would welcome a move to London and the opportunity to join Chelsea.

Bournemouth are not ready to sell cheaply during the middle of the season. Any agreement would require Chelsea to pay a sizeable fee plus add-ons.

However, Chelsea are ready to meet Bournemouth’s demands if Scott becomes their priority target.

The midfielder remains under contract with Bournemouth until 2028 and has already registered one goal and one assist this season.

Chelsea have not completely abandoned their interest in Camara, but their attention has increasingly shifted towards Scott.

Therefore, the Blues are ready to test Bournemouth’s resolve when the January window opens, with Scott currently fitting the profile they want.
