Cole Palmer has made a strong start to the 2026–27 campaign after an injury-hit season with Chelsea.
The 24-year-old struggled with groin and toe problems last term, which repeatedly disrupted his availability and playing rhythm.
Despite those setbacks, Palmer still made 26 Premier League appearances and scored 10 goals during the campaign.
His fortunes have improved this season, with the England international contributing two goals and two assists across four league appearances.
Palmer has also reached 71 goal involvements from his first 100 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.
However, the playmaker has now attracted attention away from football following an unusual incident involving a popular streaming platform.
According to The Sun, Twitch banned Palmer after he livestreamed gameplay from EA Sports FC 27 before its scheduled release.
Palmer streamed for more than an hour on Tuesday while opening Ultimate Team packs and playing a match for thousands of viewers.
The game is scheduled for its global release on September 25, with early access beginning on September 18.
EA had planned to provide its first gameplay preview later on Tuesday, but Palmer began broadcasting beforehand.
The official EA Sports FC account subsequently entered his Twitch chat and questioned why he had started streaming early.
Twitch later suspended Palmer’s account and removed his EA Sports FC 27 content from the platform.
Footage from the broadcast had already circulated online before the content disappeared.
Palmer then responded through Instagram stories by tagging both EA and Twitch while requesting that his account be reinstated.
The incident comes during a positive period on the pitch for Palmer following his fitness problems last season.
He has already combined effectively with Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro during Chelsea’s opening matches of the new campaign.
Palmer also remains tied to Chelsea on a long-term contract until June 2033 after agreeing an extension in August 2024.
