Liverpool have reached an agreement with Hugo Ekitike on a 6-year deal, according to RMC Sport.
They just have to agree on a fee with Eintracht Frankfurt to seal the deal.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt want around €90 to seal this deal.
Arne Slot wanted to bring in a striker who can score goals and win matches for Liverpool.
The Reds hoped that Darwin Nunez could be that striker when they signed him from Benfica.
However, the Uruguayan regressed when it comes to performances at Anfield over time.
That is why Arne Slot wants to have a change up front, and he wants a new face.
The primary target for Liverpool this season was Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.
The Swedish international scored goals for fun last season in the Premier League.
Isak scored 23 goals, and in terms of the tally, he was behind Mohamed Salah in the Golden Boot race.
That is why Arne Slot wanted Isak because the Swedish has proven that he can deliver in the Premier League.
However, Newcastle’s stance was firm. They were not ready to part ways with their striker.
Liverpool were ready to go bog just like they did with Florian Wirtz. But Newcastle resisted firmly.
Meanwhile, Newcastle wanted to sign Hugo Ekitike to play with Alexander Isak up front.
But, as revealed earlier, Ekitike wanted Liverpool move over Newcastle after the Reds made an approach.
And, now, Ekitike has reached an agreement on personal terms on a six-year deal with the Premier League champions.
Manchester United were also eyeing a move for the French striker. But, it looks like he will wear the jersey of their arch-rivals.
Now, Liverpool will start the negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt to get this Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool deal over the line.
