This summer transfer window promises to be one of the most hectic in recent memory, with seemingly every club urgently needing to plug gaps in their squads.
This is particularly the case with number 9’s, with their being strong links across the Premier League to some of Europe’s hottest strikers.
However, with a focus on homegrown players needing to be considered, one man who’s had a breakout season in the Premier League will surely be on the radar of a number of clubs.
It is therefore no surprise to hear that Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap is currently assessing his transfer options this summer, according to manager Kieran McKenna.
Ahead of their final Premier league bow against West Ham, in his final press conference the Ipswich manager commented:
Delap has scored 12 Premier League goals in his breakthrough season in the top flight, and is attracting attention from a number of clubs.
The young striker has been a source of inspiration for Ipswich this season, with goals against Aston Villa, Chelsea, Bournemouth and Europa League winners Tottenham in his repertoire.
Despite being relegated, it seems almost certain the former Man City academy graduate will leave the club this summer ahead of a potential move back to one of the Premier League’s top clubs.
Having been linked with the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Newcastle in recent weeks, the Ipswich talisman looks to have his pick of a number of Premier league clubs this summer.
Delap signed a contract with the Tractor Boys until June 2029, with a significant and very much affordable release clause inserted if Ipswich got relegated.
With the Under 21’s Euros this summer, and a possible senior England call up potentially on the horizon, the young striker will be wanting to secure the best move ahead of the World Cup in North America next summer.
