It has not been a summer that any Brentford fan wanted.
Brentford have been dealt the blow of seeing manager Thomas Frank leave for Tottenham Hotspur, someone who has done so much for the club.
Since then, they have also seen Bryan Mbeumo and club captain Christian Nørgaard depart the club, for Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
Striker Yoana Wissa is also reportedly wanting a move away, with Newcastle United heavily linked for a move before the news that came out yesterday that they are not selling striker Alexander Isak.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Wissa as an Isak replacement, another sale that would rock Brentford’s season.
They have seen goalkeeper Mark Flekken move to Bayer Leverkusen on the same day they welcomed Liverpool’s Caoimhín Kelleher to the club.
Kelleher’s former teammate Jordan Henderson also arrived this summer from Eredivisie side Ajax as a replacement for Nørgaard.
His experience and leadership will be vital for a Brentford side many are tipping to be in a relegation battle.
The loss of Frank is the most damaging for the London side. However, the recruitment of the club should give any Brentford fan hope that they will be able to recover from their summer of set backs.
They have targeted one Premier League attacker to help fill the voids left by the departure of Mbeumo.
Brentford identify surprise Bryan Mbeumo replacement
According to reports, Brentford have held talks with Bournemouth attacker Dango Ouattara.
Ouattara signed from Ligue 1 side Lorient in January 2023 and has gone on to make 81 Premier League appearances for the Cherries.
He has recorded nine league goals for Bournemouth, including seven in the 2024/25 season.
With an ability to also play wing back, the loss of Mbeumo and potential departure of Wissa, Ouattara would be a welcome addition for Andrews and this Brentford team.
