Liverpool are having a fantastic transfer window. They have covered almost every position on the pitch with reinforcements.
The Reds signed Florian Wirtz as their midfielder, along with Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez as their two full-backs.
Apart from that, the Reds have signed Hugo Ekitike as the replacement for Darwin Nunez, who moved to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal.
Now, Arne Slot is looking for a replacement for Luis Diaz. The Dutch manager is targeting Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
The Magpies are blocking the move, but Isak is taking desperate measures to secure the move to Anfield.
Along with the Isak deal, Slot wants a defender as well to replace Jarell Quansah, who signed for Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the window.
So, Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. However, Slot wants to sign two defenders.
The reason he wants Marc Guehi is that the Palace defender has the experience of playing in the Premier League.
Along with Guehi, he wants to bring in a young defender who can be the ideal replacement for Quansah.
That is why the Dutch manager is looking at the Serie A to sign the defender and now, it looks like the Reds are close to signing their target.
According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool are close to agreeing a fee with Parma for their defender Giovanni Leoni.
The 18-year-old Italian defender has been impressive for Parma. Liverpool will pay Parma around £30 million to sign the defender.
The way the Giovanni Leoni to Liverpool transfer is progressing, the deal could be finalised within the next 24 hours, according to reports.
