About a decade back, Barcelona was the most successful and entertaining team to watch in Europe.
However, things fell drastically after a few years from their last UEFA Champions League triumph in 2015.
A few years back, Barcelona was just a shadow of their old self. But, things changed because of one man and his name is Hansi Flick.
The German coach replaced Xavi who won the La Liga with the Blaugrana.
And so far, Hansi Flick has been one of the best appointments in recent years for the team from Catalonia.
Hansi Flick has brought identity to Barcelona’s football again. He is bringing up new players from La Masia.
The likes of Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal are shining under his tutelage.
Barcelona won the domestic treble this season. They were also favourites to win the Champions League but Inter Mila spoiled the party for the Cules.
So, Hansi Flick is now more determined to win the Champions League next season.
That is why he wants the Barcelona board to sign a player he thinks could be crucial for his quest.
According to Fichajes, Hansi Flick wants Barcelona to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
The Columbian international was a crucial part of Arne Slot’s team as Liverpool lifted the Premier League crown for the second time in their history.
In 50 appearances for the Premier League champions, Diaz has scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists.
The 28-year-old can be a perfect player for Hansi Flick’s team because he wants to have squad depth and doesn’t put too much pressure on young Lamine Yamal.
Liverpool would demand around €70 million from Barcelona for Luis Diaz.
Now, the Blaugrana needs to comply with financial fair play.
That is why they will have to be strategic if they want to sign Luis Diaz, a player Hansi Flick wants to sign to bring Champions League back to Camp Nou.
Liverpool also are looking at possible replacements in case Luis Diaz leaves for Barcelona.
