Alexander Isak to Liverpool has been the most talked-about deal of this transfer window. The Swedish international will join the current Premier League champions in a British record deal.
The Reds paid Newcastle United £125 million to sign the second-highest goal scorer of the last season. With that, the summer-long drama between Newcastle, Isak, and Liverpool ends.
Liverpool have officially announced the signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle. However, even after the official announcement, statements are being exchanged.
One Newcastle star has issued a statement on the matter already. Now, the agent of Alexander Isak, Vlado Lemic, has opened up about the matter in public while speaking to Jim White of talkSPORT.
Earlier, Isak issued a statement when Newcastle were blocking his move to Anfield. He said:
“The reality is that promises were made, and the club has known my position for a long time. To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading.”
After this statement on Instagram from Isak, Newcastle United also put out a statement of their own by saying:
“We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.”
It was a clear indication that things were getting ugly between Isak and Newcastle. The Magpies wanted to sign a replacement before they could sell Isak.
After signing Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa, they have finally allowed Alexander Isak to join Liverpool in a British record deal.
Now, the agent of Swedish international has taken a sly dig at his former club. Vlado Lemic said while talking to talkSPORT:
“It’s nice when you have someone to be with, but it’s even nicer when you know who you’ll never be with again.”
Alexander Isak will be seen in the famous red jersey of Liverpool when the Premier League resumes after the international break.
