Chelsea keeping tabs on La Liga forward

Only then could Chelsea seriously consider him as part of their long-term plans.

Enzo Maresca

Chelsea continue to scan the market for new attacking options. Enzo Maresca has made several additions this summer but remains keen to strengthen further.

The Italian boss wants to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League after winning the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

The Blues are looking to have a stronger attack. They know that to compete against the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal, they need squad depth.

That is why attention has turned to Spain. Reports suggest the Blues are monitoring one of Athletic Bilbao’s rising players.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea are showing interest in Maroan Sannadi.

The Moroccan striker only joined Bilbao in January 2025 from Alaves. He has since impressed coaches and supporters with his physical attributes and work rate.

Sannadi previously spent time on loan at Barakaldo in the 2024-25 season. His explosive performances there convinced Bilbao to sign him permanently.

So far, the 24-year-old has not been prolific. He scored once in 22 games last season and has added just one goal in four appearances this campaign.

At San Mames, Athletic want him to maintain consistency. The club are confident he can prove his quality over the long term.

Chelsea, however, are still weighing their options. Maresca has brought in several forwards. The Italian also sent Nicolas Jackson on loan to Bayern Munich.

And Raheem Sterling did not find a club this summer, but he can leave in January if he finds a club.

The Blues are likely to target players who can make a bigger impact in front of goal. Questions remain about whether Sannadi has the numbers to justify a major move.

For now, his priority will be to improve his scoring record in La Liga. Only then could Chelsea seriously consider him as part of their long-term plans.
