Liverpool started the 2025/26 Premier League season by winning 5 straight games. They are the defending champions. And it looked like they were unstoppable until they faced Crystal Palace.

A loss at Selhurst Park was followed by another loss in the Champions League against the Turkish champions Galatasaray.

After that, the Reds suffered another defeat away from home when they faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Now, in their next game, they will take on Manchester United at Anfield. Arne Slot will hope that a return home will also result in the return of the luck Liverpool were getting at the start.

But the Reds are also quite active in the transfer market. They are following the situation of Marc Guehi.

Liverpool missed out on signing on deadline day as Palace backed away at the last minute. Now, defence is not the only position Liverpool want to strengthen.

Selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich has left a void in Arne Slot’s system. The Colombian was a rigorous presser and a player with flair.

So, the Dutch manager wants to find a player with a similar profile. They did sign Alexander Isak, but the former Newcastle United man is a different profile.

That is why Liverpool are looking to sign another Premier League forward who can be the ideal replacement for Diaz.

According to indykaila News on X, the Reds now lead the race for Antoine Semenyo. The Bournemouth star is on the radar of many Premier League clubs.

The Sporting Director of Liverpool, Richard Hughes, is in direct contact with the Cherries to get this Semenyo deal over the line.

As per the report, Bournemouth will demand £90- £100 million if the Reds try to sign the Ghana international in January.

But the price will drop to £70 million in case Liverpool pursue him next summer. Also, at that price, this Semenyo deal will become easy for many clubs that are in this race.

So now, Liverpool will have to make a decision as to when they should go and get this Semenyo deal over the line.
