Jurgen Klopp had a legendary stint as a Liverpool manager. However, the Reds are not the first club that the German boss has transformed.
Back in Germany, he managed the Borussia Dortmund side that won the Bundesliga in 2011. Also, he took Dortmund to the Champions League final, where they lost to their rivals Bayern Munich,
After that, he left Dortmund to join Liverpool and transformed the entire club, giving them a new attitude. Also, he revolutionised the playing style at Anfield.
Klopp appeared in the Diary Of A CEO podcast, where Steven Bartlett, a British Entrepreneur, asked whether the German boss would one day come back and manage Liverpool again. He replied:
“I said I will never coach another team, a different team, in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool… yeah. Theoretically, it’s possible.”
Jurgen Klopp continued and said that he has time on his hands to make such a decision. He said:
“I’m 58, that means I could make the decision in a few years, I don’t know. Do I have to make the decision today?
“Then I will not coach again. But thank God, I don’t have to do that. I can just see what the future brings.”
When asked what it would take for him to come back to a managerial role at Liverpool, Klopp said that he doesn’t miss coaching at all. The former Liverpool boss said:
“I don’t even know exactly, I love what I do right now. I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; I don’t miss going to press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.
If it ever happens, Jurgen Klopp returning to Liverpool as a manager will have the same level of romanticism as Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United.
