Chelsea took on Qarabag FK in Azerbaijan in their Champions League clash. The Blues took the lead in the game through Estevao.
However, 13 minutes later, Leandro Andrade equalized for Qarabag, and 10 minutes later, the Azerbaijani side took the lead in the game through Marko Jankovic’s penalty.
So, it seemed the comeback was complete for Qarabag. However, Chelsea had other ideas. And, 8 minutes after the second half started, Alejandro Garnacho equalized for the Blues.
The new signing from Manchester United saved Chelsea’s face, who are the current World Champions of club football.
So, the game ended in a 2-2 draw, and Enzo Maresca’s side only had to settle for a draw. However, this draw puts Chelsea in 12th place in the table.
The Blues need to finish in the first eight places to guarantee a place in the round of 16. Now, Chelsea will shift their focus to the Premier League as they have Wolves at home on Saturday.

The Blues have also released a statement in this regard, which Peter Rutzler posted on X.
Qarabag FK also apologized and promised to investigate the matter. It would be interesting to see what happens next, as UEFA takes matters of racism quite seriously.
