Premier League managers are always in the limelight. Also, they are the face of their teams. So, whatever they do on and off the pitch gets scrutinised often.
Now, it is time for one of the former managers of multiple Premier League clubs to face a ban for driving at a speed higher than the limit.
So, after appearing in court, the Magistrate banned him for 6 months from driving.
The 64-year-old ex-Premier League manager was speeding in his £80,000 Porsche on a road with a speed limit of 20mph.
As per the cameras that captured him driving, he was driving at 26mph. That is why Alan Pardew will now face a 6-month ban from driving.
He even pleaded guilty and gave the reason for breaking the speed limit as he was going to attend to his mother. Pardew argued, as per The Daily Mail:
“I’m just trying to keep her life as normal as possible after the loss of her husband”, the Daily Mail reported.
“She doesn’t want to live with me or my sister; she wants to be at home. She wants to live in the house where she lived with her partner.
“She’s on her own. We have talked about perhaps bringing her back to London, but she doesn’t want that.
“She’s quite emotional, we lost my brother this year as well, she’s not in a great mental space. I would worry.”
Alan Pardew has managed multiple Premier League clubs. He took West Ham United to the FA Cup and achieved the same feat with Crystal Palace in 2016 where he lost to Manchester United.
His last managerial assignment was with a Greek side, Aris Thessaloniki, where he spent just five months before he left in February 2023.
Since then, he has taken football punditry as his professional often appearing to talkSPORT and other reputed platforms.
