With the international break ending, the Premier League football will resume, and Chelsea will be in action this weekend.
The Blues have been trying to climb back from chaos ever since the takeover. They finished in 12th place in the first season under the Todd Boehly regime.
This season, the Blues sit third, only six points behind leaders Arsenal. They have also won the Club World Cup and the Conference League in recent times.
So, there is progress in almost every area, but the path has been anything but smooth.
With every defeat, every sale, every managerial change, frustration has built, and their supporters have been loud about it.
The pressure around the club has felt constant. And yet, the man at the top had not said much in response until now.
Todd Boehly made it clear how little the criticism affects him in this latest interview. The Chelsea co-owner said he simply sees it as “one more person that does not know what they are talking about”.
He also spoke about how the English media remind him “every day how smart they are and how stupid I am”, a jab that only inflamed the reaction further.
His confidence, though, did not waver. He insisted the club is heading in the right direction.
Boehly praised Enzo Maresca for bringing stability and promised supporters that the squad will “continue to evolve and grow”.
He said the long contracts and squad construction were deliberate. Chelsea, he explained, want to expand their fan base worldwide because global growth means global revenue.
Inside the club, optimism remains high. Outside the club, the anger from that interview still burns. But Boehly appears unfazed.
He believes he knows where Chelsea are going. The question now is whether the supporters will follow him through the storm or push back even harder as the season unfolds.
The Blues will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley in the Premier League.
