Liverpool will take on Nottingham Forest in their next Premier League game after the international break. The Reds will be looking to close the gap on Arsenal.
The Gunners are currently at the top of the Premier League table. However, the Reds will look to shrug off the disappointment they endured at the Etihad in the hands of Manchester City.
But for a former Liverpool star, things became tough when he was caught doing something inappropriate while driving. However, he got away with it after appearing in court.
According to The Sun, the former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll landed in court after he used his phone to film a migrant protest while driving his Range Rover.
Police spotted him holding his phone at the wheel as they directed traffic around a huge demonstration outside the Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex.
Carroll admitted the offence straight away. He already had ten points on his licence from three speeding incidents between 2022 and 2024.
The court added six more points, which took him to sixteen. That total normally means an automatic driving ban.
Carroll explained that he needs his car to take a family member to the hospital for important medical treatment.
He asked the court to consider the impact on his family. The magistrates listened and allowed him to keep his licence, but they warned him that he now “drives on borrowed time”.
Carroll also agreed to pay £1,052 in fines and costs. His lawyer told the court that Carroll filmed the protest because he wanted to show a friend why he arrived late for a meeting.
The judge told him to stay away from his mobile and to slow down in future. Carroll left the court with his licence intact for now.
