Premier League forward banned from driving

A Premier League star has been banned from driving for a second time.

The police stopped him behind the wheel of a £140,000 BMW fitted with what officers described as “excessive” window tints.

The 24-year-old is currently serving an FA suspension for a doping violation. He was pulled over on the A4 in West London when officers noticed the car’s darkened glass and Ukrainian number plate.

Checks quickly revealed that Mykhailo Mudryk was already disqualified from driving due to previous speeding offences.

Magistrates were told that the police had seized the BMW before and that tests on the front windows confirmed they failed to let in the legally required amount of light.

Defence lawyer Daniel Higgins explained that the winger drove only because his chauffeur was unavailable to take him to training.

He also added that Mudryk “was not thinking” and had endured a “difficult year”.

Mudryk admitted to driving while disqualified and without insurance, as well as using a vehicle in a dangerous condition.

The Ukrainian also faces a potential four-year football ban after testing positive for a prohibited medication.

For the current offence, he received a one-year driving ban and a 12-month community order. He must also complete 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £199 in costs.

The latest incident adds to a turbulent period for the £97 million signing, whose future on and off the pitch remains clouded by uncertainty.

Since joining Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023, Mudryk has made 73 appearances for the Blues. The Ukrainian has 10 goals to his name so far in his career at Stamford Bridge.

It is still unclear when he could be back playing for Chelsea again. His current contract will expire in 2031. Mudryk signed an eight-and-a-half-year contract in January 2023 with the Blues
