Former Premier League manager now works behind bar

Not many people in English football are remembered through the years. But an ex-Premier League coach recently returned to the public eye in a different way than anyone thought.

Supporters at Scunthorpe United ground were left stunned this week when a familiar face appeared behind the bar.

He poured drinks while talking relaxed with supporters that used to see him shine across Europe’s biggest leagues.

The event kicked off a fresh Boxing Day plan, where 10,000 free pints of Guinness get given away at local football spots. So, fans can cheer louder without spending more.

Yet seeing an ex-England star pour pints in a busy pub sparked murmurs among onlookers.

Back when he wasn’t managing, his journey started in lower division leagues before climbing up to top continental stages.

Kevin Keegan stood out through effort and charm. His game shaped a generation. He wasn’t just fast or loud; his energy changed how games felt back then.

Back then, scraping through the fourth division gave way to a sudden climb. Yet trophies and big European nights still shine bright in fans’ minds from that golden stretch.

Keegan won England’s top football prize, grabbed Europe’s best player title twice, while his sideline energy over years changed teams and players who played under him.

The ex-Liverpool and England star headed back to Scunthorpe United; the team he played for over three seasons, bagged 22 goals across 141 matches, before a switch to Anfield changed everything.

Keegan signed up with Guinness to kick off a push backing local football, hoping to hand out 10,000 pints for free at amateur matches come December 26th.
