Last season, Mohamed Salah was the best player in the Premier League. He scored 29 goals and assisted 18 times in 38 games.
The Egyptian was instrumental in helping Liverpool win the Premier League. However, things have changed quite a bit since then.
The Reds started the new season brightly. They won all their first five games. But since the loss to Crystal Palace, things have become worse.
In the last 10 Premier League games this season, Arne Slot’s team has lost six of them. That is why they are now at the 10th position in the table.
Things escalated after the draw against Leeds United at Elland Road. The Whites came back from behind to level the game 3-3 at the dying minutes.
After the game, Mohamed Salah gave an explosive interview where he accused the club of throwing him under the bus.
Also, the Egyptian claimed that his relationship with the manager Arne Slot is completely broken. These comments have drawn criticisms from ex-players and pundits.
Slot was keeping Salah on the bench for consecutive matches and that has prompted Salah to do that interview. Also, his form was not helping either.
So far this season, he has four goals and two assists for the Reds in the Premier League. And now, the German outlet BILD has revealed a shocking element from this entire saga.
According to their report, people at Liverpool knew that ‘Mo Salah has the biggest ego at the club’. But they didn’t stop there.
The German outlet also claimed that Salah does not like the rise of Florian Wirtz as the leader of the attack for Liverpool. They claimed:
“The fact that Wirtz is now leading the attack, ushering in a future in which Salah plays no part, sent the Egyptian into a rage.”
Liverpool will play Brighton next at home in the Premier League. And many are expecting this game to be kind of a farewell for Salah, as he will leave for AFCON afterwards.
