Newcastle United travelled to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby. The Magpies were dominating the Black Cats in their recent meetings.

However, in the Premier League this season, Sunderland have been having a much better outing since their return to the English top-flight.

They are now eyeing a place in Europe, something the Magpies achieved last season. Eddie Howe’s men are having a decent run in the Champions League.

However, their domestic form is disappointing. So, when they faced their arch-rivals, they had to win that game. Newcastle fans are already disappointed with their team’s domestic form.

A loss against Sunderland could have been a breaking point for them. And the result didn’t go in their favour.

The Black Cats beat the Magpies for the first time in 10 years. And, the victory came due to an own-goal from their new signing Nick Woltemade.

During the game, Newcastle United defender Dan Burn was also rushed to the hospital. Things became chaotic from the start of the game.

Sunderland fans were hostile to Newcastle fans from the beginning. So, Newcastle fans were expecting their team to give a fitting reply at the end of the game.

The Magpies were expecting a win in this game. But things didn’t go well for them. As a result, their fans were outraged.

And one footage appeared on social media that went viral. In that footage, Newcastle fans were seen fighting among themselves after the game.

They were throwing chairs at each other and throwing punches. It was absolute chaos. Now, it is not confirmed that such a fall out was because of the result or anything happened between the fans.

However, one thing is for sure: Newcastle fans will be deeply hurt because of what has happened in the Tyne-Wear derby.
