Alexander Isak is having a tough start to his Liverpool career. The former Newcastle United striker is not having a great time.
He was injured and came back, and Arne Slot was slowly integrating him into the squad. However, his latest injury against Tottenham Hotspur will be another setback.
And, Liverpool did scans, and the report is out now. Sky Sports revealed that Alexander Isak might have broken his leg.
Isak did score against Tottenham in that game. But the challenge for Micky van de Ven was devastating for the forward.
The Spurs defender was not punished for the challenge. But Alexander Isak was struggling since the challenge from the Dutch defender.
The Swedish international still scored the goal. But after Slot saw him struggling, the Dutch manager took him off.
After that, in the post-match press conference, Arne Slot confirmed that he was worried for his striker.
Now, the scans could reveal that Isak might have broken his leg. Liverpool made Isak their British record signing after having a fantastic season with Newcastle United last year.
This season, the Reds are struggling after starting the season well. Isak needed time to get back to his best as he didn’t train with Newcastle due to his transfer fiasco.
However, once it looked like Isak was getting back to his best again, he suffered another setback. Hugo Ekitike is proving to be the best signing so far this summer for the Reds.
Liverpool will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers next Saturday at Anfield, and Ekitike is expected to start up front, as Isak might be out for a long time.
