Chelsea are in crisis, and nobody saw this coming. The Blues were on top of the world in the summer when they were crowned as the FIFA Club World Cup winners.
Also, last season, they won the Conference League. So, it was going all well for the Blues. They were also tipped as one of the favourites to win the Premier League.
In the summer, they have brought in the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Alejandro Garnacho, and Estevao. And these players are starting to make an impact slowly.
However, out of nowhere, things are falling apart at Chelsea. The rumours about a possible rift between the management and the manager were there.
These rumours began from the time Enzo Maresca got linked with the Manchester City job. The Italian is seen as the successor for Pep Guardiola.
Also, the recent results were not helping Maresca either. In the last seven Premier League games, his team managed to win only once.
Furthermore, Chelsea dropped from the third position to fifth in the Premier League table. Thus, the tension was rising between the Chelsea board and Enzo Maresca.
Now, things have escalated to a point of no return for both Maresca and Chelsea. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are having an internal discussion regarding the future of Enzo Maresca.
Even Sky Sports have reported the same. And, they are even saying the Maresca could get the sack as early as today.
So, the Blues are in crisis mid-season as the board tries to salvage their season by making a huge change in the dugout.
