Real reason why Real Madrid cannot sign Mohamed Salah after being offered by his agent

Salah’s agents are offering him to several clubs across Europe.

Real Madrid have made a decision on a potential move for Mohamed Salah. The club have chosen not to pursue a deal despite the winger being offered by his representatives.

Salah is currently away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations. He is expected to return to Liverpool later this month. His departure for international duty came after a tense period.

Before leaving, the winger publicly criticised Liverpool and head coach Arne Slot. He did feature off the bench against Brighton at Anfield on December 13.

That appearance did little to calm speculation around his future. There has also been interest from Italy. Reports in the Italian media have suggested AS Roma are exploring a loan move.

Transfer News Live previously reported Roma’s interest, but finances remain a major obstacle.

Salah earns around €24 million gross per season. For a six month loan, Roma would need to cover at least €12 million in wages. That figure has complicated any progress.

The same issue applies elsewhere. According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid had an approach from Salah’s camp. However, the club quickly ruled out the idea.

The report states that Madrid consider the cost of a loan deal to be excessive. The loan fee and wages are too much for a six month stay for the Los Blancos.

Defensa Central also claimed Salah’s agents are offering him to several clubs across Europe. Despite that, Madrid have shown no interest in moving forward.

From their point of view, the deal does not make sense financially. The club believe it would be unprofitable.

As things stand, Real Madrid have closed the door. A January move to the Bernabeu will not happen.

Salah remains under contract at Liverpool, and his immediate future looks set to stay unchanged.
