With Arne Slot winning the Premier League in his first season, a new chapter is beginning at Anfield.
Liverpool are wasting no time in reshaping their squad for the future.
Following a season where consistency in the attacking midfield role was often lacking, the Reds have turned their attention to a young European talent who has lit up the Bundesliga.
Florian Wirtz has made it clear, he wants Liverpool. And now, all three parties involved are working quickly to get the deal across the line.
The process did not start smoothly. An initial bid was turned down by the German club, Bayer Leverkusen who stood firm on their valuation.
Liverpool, however, did not walk away. Instead, they returned with an improved offer believed to be in the region of €130 million, including add-ons.
Negotiations are now centred on those add-ons. While Liverpool are being cautious, Leverkusen want the add-ons to be straightforward; based on goals, appearances, and Champions League qualification.
Neither side wants the deal to collapse at this stage. Talks have entered an advanced phase and, barring any last-minute complications, a deal could soon be in place.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Florian Wirtz, the 22-year-old German midfielder has chosen Liverpool as his next destination after a stellar season with Bayer Leverkusen.
Wirtz has been one of Europe’s standout performers, combining creativity, vision, and an eye for goal.
His decision to join Liverpool shows the appeal of the club’s long-term project, under the Dutch manager, Arne Slot.
If the deal is finalised, possibly edging closer to €150 million, it would mark one of the most significant signings in Liverpool’s modern history.
This will underline their commitment to building a new era around top-tier talent.
With Florian Wirtz, Liverpool will be looking forward to dominating not only English football but Europe football as well.
