Newcastle United are ready to build on recent contract progress by opening fresh talks with one of their most important players.
After securing Sven Botman’s future, attention has now turned to a midfielder who continues to attract serious interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Despite Newcastle’s mixed form this season, one individual has consistently stood out. Unsurprisingly, that level of performance has not gone unnoticed elsewhere.
Reports indicate that Manchester City remain long-term admirers, while Paris Saint-Germain have also kept a close eye on developments.
Furthermore, there is awareness that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich continue to monitor the situation from afar.
However, the Magpies have no intention of letting their midfield leader drift towards uncertainty.
According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle are now preparing to sit down with Bruno Guimaraes to discuss improved terms, aiming to reward his importance and secure long-term stability.
The 28-year-old is enjoying the most productive campaign of his career, already hitting eight goals alongside three assists.
Meanwhile, current contract runs until 2028, but it does include a release clause that previously stood at around £100 million, something Newcastle are keen to address.
Ideally, the club would like to remove that clause altogether. Encouragingly, Guimaraes’ camp are understood to be open to discussions.
Newcastle have already tied down Botman and are also keen to secure Tino Livramento in the near future.
For now, though, ensuring Guimaraes remains at the heart of the project is the priority, even though Manchester City and PSG continue to monitor him.
🚨 Newcastle United are set to follow up Sven Botman’s new contact by opening talks with talisman Bruno Guimarães.
He has already scored 8 goals this season, the most in his career, and is the club’s top goalscorer in 2025/26.
