The dugout at San Siro could soon welcome a new face and a familiar one at that.
With Inter Milan suddenly needing a new manager after Simone Inzaghi’s unexpected departure, the club’s hierarchy has been presented with some intriguing options.
And the decision ahead could shape the club’s future for years to come.
According to Nicolo Schira, Thiago Motta has been offered to Inter by intermediaries in recent hours.
The former Juventus manager, who also had a successful stint as a Bologna manager, is now available and seemingly open to the idea of taking over at his old club.
Motta, a former Inter midfielder during his playing days, has quickly built a reputation as one of the most promising young coaches in European football.
His tactical flexibility, calm presence, and ability to develop players have drawn praise across Italy.
That, combined with his familiarity with the club and the league, makes him a natural candidate in what is quickly becoming a high-stakes decision for the Nerazzurri.
However, Motta is not the only name under discussion. Inter are also considering another surprise candidate Cesc Fabregas, who is currently managing Como.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal star has impressed with his early managerial instincts.
While still relatively new to coaching, Fabregas’ profile and understanding of the game are earning him admirers behind the scenes at top clubs.
With Simone Inzaghi now officially set to take over at Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal, Inter’s management are under pressure to act fast.
Pre-season plans are already in motion, and stability on the bench will be key as they aim to reclaim the Scudetto and make another deep run in Europe.
What remains to be seen is whether Inter choose the proven Serie A tactician in Motta or take a bold gamble on a rising talent like Fabregas.
