Fans have been left surprised after learning that Gary Neville’s sister has landed a new role in football. Tracey Neville is best known for her decorated career in netball rather than football.
She represented England 81 times and won bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and the World Netball Championships a year later.
Meanwhile, at club level, the 49-year-old enjoyed spells with Northern Thunder and Leeds Carnegie before retiring from playing in 2008.
Tracey later moved into coaching and leadership roles. She managed England between 2015 and 2019. Also, she oversaw Northern Thunder (later known as Manchester Thunder) for four years.
Furthermore, Neville became the inaugural head coach of Melbourne Mavericks in 2023. But she left the role last year. Now, Gary Neville’s sister’s latest football job has surprised many fans.
Recently, the former Manchester United defender has been having problems with influencers. Now, he will be happy to learn about his sister’s new job in football.
Tracey Neville has been appointed Managing Director of Stockport County Women, with the club confirming the decision on Thursday afternoon, in an official statement.
Stockport County Women currently compete in Division One North of the FA Women’s National League.
They finished seventh last season but have made a strong start to the current campaign. As things stand, they sit fourth on 25 points.
However, they have played more games than several sides around them, including Leeds and Cheadle Town Stingers.
Next up, Stockport face a trip to Norton and Stockton Ancients as they look to build on a run of three wins from their last four matches.
The club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Tracey Neville as Managing Director of Stockport County Women.
Tracey will play a key role in developing clear pathways from grassroots to elite football and helping shape the next phase of Stockport County Women.
