Chelsea are looking to sign a new striker. Last summer, they did sign Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. However, both failed to deliver the kind of impact the Blues expect from them.
As a result, they will be in the market next summer to find a top-level striker. Chelsea let Nicolas Jackson go last summer on loan to Bayern Munich.
The Blues received €16.5 million as a loan fee and also included an obligation to buy clause for €65 million if Jackson starts at least 40 games for Bayern throughout the season.
It is unlikely the Senegal international will achieve that. So, he should be back at Stamford Bridge next summer as Bayern haven’t decided on whether they would keep him or not.
Still, the Blues will look to move Jackson on and sign a new striker. Now, Liam Rosenior is looking for a proven striker who has delivered at the top level.
Now, Chelsea have set their sights on a striker who will be available for free next summer. According to Calciomercato, the Blues are showing interest in Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian international’s contract will expire in the summer, and he has not signed a new deal with Juventus. At the age of 26, Vlahovic has become a prime target for multiple European giants.
Barcelona were also looking at him to replace Robert Lewandowski. Now, Chelsea will have competition from Newcastle United. The Magpies are also looking for a top striker.
After selling Alexander Isak for a British-record fee, they failed to reinvest that amount in their squad. They did sign Nick Woltemade. But the German has not achieved the level of Isak.
That is why Newcastle will be looking at Dusan Vlahovic, who has already played over 150 games for the Old Lady.
However, if both clubs make an offer, Chelsea could get the nod from Vlahovic. However, if he wants more game time, then St. James’ Park could be his best destination.
